Summary The Tony Sarg Marionette Book takes readers on a tour of the puppeteer Tony Sarg. Sarg, a professional artist,ℓmade marionettes. This book details his methods and commends his work. Marionettes are puppets whose limbs are attached to string that is connected to a handle which the puppeteer holds. By making minute movements with the handle, the puppet moves. This method of puppeteering is useful because puppets cannot change their facial expression. Instead, the puppet must convey emotion through its body language. Marionettes have more control over more body parts, allowing for greater expression ofℓbody language.
