Summary Leonardo da Vinci's famousℓVitruvian Man, a drawing accompanied by notes on the works of architect Vitruvius. Sometimes calledℓThe Canon of ProportionsℓorℓProportions of Man, da Vinci's drawing is based on the correlations of ideal human proportions with geometry. The drawing also includes some notes da Vinci deemed interesting from Vitruvius' theories. Some of these notes are measurements that prove surprising to many. For instance, da Vinci notes that the height of a man is the length of his outstretched arms, the length of a man's foot is one-seventh of his height, and the distance from the bottom of a man's chin to the bottom of his nose is equal to the measurement of his ear.
