Summary
The LGBTQ community encompasses a wide variety of identities and experiences, and currently there are no federal laws that explicitly protect their rights. Harris and Marciniak examine the effects of direct and indirect discrimination, and stresses the importance of educating people about the inaccuracies of harmful stereotypes, and of altering the political framework that allows LGBTQ discrimination. -- adapted from chapter: A hostile atmosphere.
