Summary John Harvey Kellogg wasℓthe superintendent ofℓThe Battle Creek Sanitarium in Battle Creek, Michigan, one of the most famous "health spas" in America during the latter part of the 19th and early 20th centuries.ℓAs part of theℓhealth regimen, Kellogg imposed a strict vegetarian diet on patients at the sanitarium.ℓHeℓand his younger brother Will are best known as the inventors of Kellogg's Corn Flakes. Both Kelloggs were members of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, which advocated for a vegetarian diet.ℓWill (Keith)ℓKellogg went on to found the Kellogg Company in 1906, which is still headquartered in Battle Creek.
