A fascinating collection drawing together four unique short films devised, written or directed by renowned cartoonist and filmmaker Bruce Petty. The collection features the Academy Award winning Leisure plus The Magic Arts, Megalomedia and The Movers. Leisure (made in 1976, duration 14 mins) takes a wry look at the world of work and leisure through history. It considers our changing patterns of work since the Industrial Revolution and the effects mechanisation and electricity have had on our leisure time. The Magic Arts (1978, 19 mins) is a visual onslaught of artistic ideas, showing how art relates to and intertwines with our daily lives. Megalomedia (1981, 28 mins) is a humorous and searching examination of the development of media and its audience. Master of ceremonies, Max Gillies guides us through a rapid succession of thoughts and perceptions in three parts, the Media Machine, the Media Market and the Media Mind. The Movers (1987, 49 mins) provides an historical perspective of the development of technology from the primitive age through to the nuclear age.
