Summary For the mental health practitioner, interviewing sexually abused children is never easy, but dealing with the youngest children presents special problems. The clinician must know how to communicate with these children, and how to overcome their fear of divulging a terrible secret. This one hour video and accompanying syllabus trains clinicians to conduct sensitive and effective
diagnostic interviews with both known and suspected victims of child sexual abuse, particularly very young children. Numerous demonstrations of successful interviewing techniques will teach you how to win the trust of frightened children, pose questions that will evoke the most information, and use a variety of communications aids such as puppets and anatomically correct dolls.
