The colonies declare war against the Narragansetts, then with the larges task force ever assembled to this date attack the Narragansett Fort at South Kingston, Rhode Island and slaughter most of the women and children in the action known as the Great Swamp Massacre.The war continues, but with the death of Philip, the resistors are defeated. Thus the Sourthern New England Indian Nations no longer are a threat to the future well-being of the New England colonies. |
