In the churchyard of a cathedral in London, a sword appears imbedded in a stone. It is inscribed with a prophecy. Although many try, no one can budge the sword from the stone. Deep in the dark woods, Merlin the Magician begins to teach 11-year- old Arthur, who lives in the castle of Sir Ector where he's an apprentice squire to Sir Kay. Arthur learns the basic truths of life, but he also runs into the evil Madam Mim, who tries to destroy him. A great tournament is held in London to pick a new king. Arthur, attending as Kay's squire, forgets Kay's sword, and runs back to the inn to get it, but the inn is locked. Arthur, seeing the sword in the stone, innocently, and easily, pulls it out. When the knights marvel at the wondrous sword and question where he got it, Arthur has to prove himself all over again by pulling the sword from the stone. 521 8 MPAA rating: G. 538 DVD, region 1, full screen (1.33:1) presentation; Dolby Digital 5.1 surround. 546 English, dubbed French or dubbed Spanish dialogue with optional English, French or Spanish subtitles. 600 00 Arthur,|cKing|vJuvenile films. 600 00 Arthur,|cKing|vDrama. 650 0 Merlin (Legendary character)|vJuvenile films. 650 0 Swords|vJuvenile films. 650 0 Tournaments, Medieval|zEngland|vJuvenile films. 650 1 Merlin (Legendary character)|vDrama. 650 1 Swords|vDrama. 650 1 Tournaments, Medieval|zEngland|vDrama. 655 7 Feature films.|2lcgft 655 7 Fiction films.|2lcgft 655 7 Animated films.|2lcgft 655 7 Fantasy films.|2lcgft 655 7 Action and adventure films.|2lcgft 655 7 Children's films.|2lcgft 700 1 Peet, Bill. 700 1 Reitherman, Wolfgang,|d1909-1985. 700 1 Cabot, Sebastian. 700 1 Swenson, Karl,|d1908-1978. 700 1 Sorensen, Rickie,|d1946-1994. 700 1 Matthews, Junius,|d1890-1978. 700 1 Tyler, Ginny. 700 1 Wentworth, Martha,|d1889-1974. 700 1 Alden, Norm,|d1924-2012. 700 1 Napier, Alan,|d1903-1988. 700 1 Reitherman, Richard,|d1947- 700 1 Reitherman, Robert. 700 1 White, T.
