Summary |
In March 2012, Amina Fillali, a 16 year old girl from a small town in Morocco took her own life by swallowing rat poison after she married the man who raped her. Compelling young women-including minors-to marry their rapists is a practice that is not only socially legitimized but legally enshrined. In order to break the long silence on this issue, the young Moroccan female director decided the best method is to begin a simple project: to enable the survivors and Moroccan society to tell their stories firsthand. |
