Summary Including biographical sketches of her husband, father, children and grandchildren, Pocahontas, Alias Matoaka, and Her Descendants captures a genealogical history of the famous Native American woman. Pocahontas and John Rolfe had one child, a son, Thomas Rolfe, who was born in 1615 in Virginia, just before his parents moved to England. Through Thomas’s children and grandchildren, Pocahontas has many living descendants. In fact, many of the “first families” of the Virginia colony can trace their roots to Pocahontas and Chief Powhatan, including Edith Bolling Gait Wilson, wife of President Woodrow Wilson, and former First Lady Nancy Reagan.
