Summary In the not-too-distant future, Joel (and later Mike) and his robot pals must endure the torture of being made to watch terrible movies.
Moon zero two: "A once prominent astronaut turned lunar-based scrap collector is forced by a crooked land baron to blast an asteroid made of sapphire over to the dark side of the moon. He agrees to transport a young woman in search of her missing brother, who may have fallen victim to the rich man's real estate scheme. Can final frontier justice be far behind?"--Container.
The day the Earth froze: "The Day the Earth Froze (aka Sampo) is a fantasy based on the Finnish epic poem Kalevala. In this tale, an evil witch covets a "sampo," a magical mill that can produce salt, grain and gold. When her efforts to procure one are obstructed by a daring young hero, she steals the sun and blankets the land in darkness and ice"--Container.
The leech woman: "If Cosmopolitan had published an article entitled "10 Tips for Staying Young Without Having To Commit Murder," it could have inspired the 1959 horror film The Leech Woman. Tip #1, of course, would be Don't Travel to Africa, for that is where an endocrinologist brings his estranged, boozy and aging wife to be his guinea pig for a hormone that will restore her youthful looks. Alas, the hormone must be extracted from the pineal gland of a male, so when our heroine gets hooked on the stuff, the bodies start piling up--starting with her husband's. This is body image consciousness/youth addiction writ large and riffed even larger"--Container.
Gorgo: "Deep-sea treasure hunters capture a 65-foot monster and make it the star attraction at a London circus. Hever mind the Amber Alert, though; what's needed is a civil defense siren, because its 200-foot mother emerges to reclaim junior and trash the city in the bargain!"--Container.
Mitchell: "A tough cop looking to bust up a crime syndicate"--Container.
The brain that wouldn't die: A mad scientist keeps his fiancee's head and brain alive after she's decapitated, and attempts to find her a new body.
