"The possibility of establishing a new commuter rail service between New Haven, Hartford and Springfield, MA has been in the news lately. Leaders in both Hartford and Washington are promoting the idea and looking into possible sources of funding. This is an exciting development that will provide many environmental and economic benefits to this region and the entire State when it is built. Currently, the Connecticut Department of Transportation is preparing an Environmental Assessment of the impacts of establishing this new commuter service.
