Summary |
The Tate Modern is the most successful museum of modern art in the world if you judge this by the number of people that visited it. Since it opened its doors to the public 6 years ago more than 20 million people have come here to visit former power station turned power house for modern and contemporary art. But Tate Modern can't afford to be complacent, in fact it said from the very beginning that it wanted to challenge and refresh, re-invigorate the ways in which the story or the stories that make up the history of modern art are told. The gallery's new hang centers on 4 key moments or movements or styles or approaches that change the landscape of 20th century art: Cubism, Abstract Expressionism, Minimalism, and Surrealism. Directed by Phil Grabsky & Ben Harding. |
