Summary |
In 1942, while recovering in a British hospital ward for burn victims, fighter pilot Dom Benson hears a young Turkish singer and realizes Saba Tarcan is special. As Dom is cleared to fly again, Saba begins her own dangerous journey, heading to North Africa to perform for the troops. With a Turkish father and fluent in Arabic, this songstress is the perfect candidate to be a spy for the British. Are Dom and Saba destined to be star-crossed lovers, or will there be some "happily" to go with their "ever after"? The chance to experience World War II through such different perspectives and the suspenseful espionage elements add interest, but the characters' struggle with who they were before the war and who they want to become takes center stage. |
