Cicerone guide.
Summary In 14 day stages, this is the first cycling guidebook to cover the entirety of the Moselle River's course, from its source in the Vosges Mountains of eastern France to its confluence with the Rhine at the west German city of Koblenz. The well-waymarked 512 km route leads to the historic French cities of Nancy and Metz, crosses into Luxembourg then continues through the spectacular Mosel gorge, where the river cuts a sinuous path between the Hunsrück and Eiffel Mountains. Suitable for all experience levels, the cycling is straightforward and mainly on asphalt cycle tracks. As well as its main route, the guide provides three alternative stages and two stage-length excursions through the Saar and Rhine gorges.
