Summary In late nineteenth century India, Kim is the orphaned son of an Irish soldier and a nursemaid. Kim begs in the streets, few people realizing that he is white and that he carries on him documents from his father. Kim befriends an aged Tibetan Lama and becomes his disciple, a journey both spiritual and educational, which also leads to espionage.
