Summary |
The culture, history and geography of Japan come alive in this program that teaches children about the lives of the first Japanese Americans, who came to America over 100 years ago. Children learn how to say a few words in Japanese, visit a Japanese restaurant to see the special customs and foods that are part of a traditional meal, learn how to make a furoshiki -- a special scarf made for wrapping and presenting gifts, and enjoy A Humble Mouse, an animated Japanese folktale. The program concludes with the traditional Japanese folk song called "Usagi," which means "rabbit." |
