Summary |
A look at the development of historical districts in two Connecticut towns, Windsor and Enfield, illustrated with live action footage of specific properties in those areas. Includes a discussion of how these districts were established including what was and was not regulated by related ordinances circa 1990. Presents live action footage of buildings in the Windsor Historic District (established in 1963) at the following addresses: 209, 225, 235 (Bell School), 248, 256, 273,299, 336 Palisado Ave. Program also includes appearance by Enfield resident, Chester Brainard, Jr., who explains the creation of the Enfield Historic District, established in 1972. Live footage of residences along Rt. 5 include: the Old Town Hall, Meacham House, Pease House, Congregational Church, and the Thomas Abbee monument. |
