Here are entered works on the historic counties of Cheshire, Cumberland, Lancashire, and Westmoreland, as well as the Isle of Man, the High Peak area of Derbyshire, and the Furness area of Cumbria. Within this geographic area are the new counties of Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, and Merseyside that were created by the local government reorganization of 1974.
