Summary No kid can be good at everything. And, while Carter Carver was good at lots of cool things, colors had him stumped. That's why he always guessed when it came to colors. But no one could tell. He knew how to look for hints and clues. Plus, he had, what his father called, a super-duper memory, and could hold the colors associated with many objects in his head. Then, when asked the color of a thing he knew, like a blueberry or a firetruck, Carter would recall that blueberries are always blue and firetrucks are red; without having to understand what "blue" or "red" meant. This worked fine for him. But his greatest fear was that his classmates would discover his "colors thing" and tease him. So, Carter decided that there was only one way to avoid the potential embarrassment. He had to avoid school entirely. Luckily, his mother had a better idea. This inspirational, day-in-the-life, illustrated children's book, written in verse, can be enjoyed by any age.
