Summary "Men and women who cry out for peace at home and friendship with the rest of the world are persecuted and imprisioned in our own beloved state and nation. Those who demand adherence to the ideals of our founding father who brought forth our new nation conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal, are denounced by those who should applaud them and support them. Our Negroes and other colored citizens are treated almost everywhere as though they were entitled to fewer rights and privileges than some lordly whites who stupidly conceive themselves to be members of a superior race. Our Jewish citizens and other minority groups whose religious beliefs and practices do not happen to conform to some of the standards and creeds so glibly recited but rarely practiced by the dominant majority, are branded as heretics and subversives, denied social and political recognition in many quarters, often discriminated against like the Negroes in their quest for jobs. In the program of some of our most ambitious leaders free speech, freedom of assembly, freedom from unjust and unlawful arrest, freedom of political action, the rights of the laborer, his social security, the health of his family, and the education of his children, are all subordinated to the greed and glory of selfish interests, intrenched monopolies, and the beneficiaries of power and privilege."--p. 1
