Despite the fact that "...few military technologies have evolved as little as chemical weapons over the past half century," they have become nearly as dreaded as nuclear weapons. A forensic chemist who served as a US Army scientist traces the use of such agents from Germany's use of poison gases in World War I to chemical warfare research/use by the Soviet Union, US, Iraq, and other countries from 1970-2000.
