David Henry Wilson was born in July 1827 on board a sailboat near Lachine, Montreal, Quebec. His parents, Robert Wilson and Fanny Rogers, were in process of emigrating from Ireland. They settled on a farm in March Township, Carleton County, Ontario, Canada. They had 2 children in Ireland (little David had died but Mary came to Canada with her parents when only two years of age). David Henry was the third child of ten. David married twice. His first wife and two little sons died. His second wife was Mary Nesbitt. They had 4 sons and 7 daughters. David died in 1908 and Mary died in 1916, both in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
