Gabriela, one of a group of dirty migrant workers to arrive in Ilheus from the backland of Brazil, is hired as a cook by Nacib, the owner of a popular café, and her skills as a chef, as well as her dazzling beauty, soon turn the restaurant into the most prosperous business in town.
