Summary In 1946, code breaker Meredith Gardner discovered that the KGB was running a network of spies inside the United States, whose goal was to infiltrate American intelligence and steal military and atomic secrets. Over the next decade, he and FBI supervisor Bob Lamphere worked to uncover the Soviet agents. They followed a trail of clues that helped them take down these agents, including Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. But at the center of this spy ring, Lamphere and Gardner began to suspect that a Soviet mole was buried deep in the American intelligence community.
