Summary "Eleven-year-old Ailey Benjamin Lane is an extremely gifted dancer. He'd be the first to tell and show you. So when his teacher announces that the school's next produciton will be 'The Wiz', Ailey is beyond ready to wow everyone at tryouts. Yet when that day arrives, Ailey is off his game. He forgot to wear his lucky Black Panther watch, can't remember his lines, and stands frozen when it's his turn. Later a humiliated Ailey confides in his Grampa that he's ready to give up dancing. In hopes of bolstering Ailey, Grampa shares his own secret: he gave up a promising career as a tap dancer when he was young. Like Ailey, self-doubt stopped him in his tracks, and he's regretted it every day since. Grampa even keeps a pair of very special tap shoes from all those years ago as a reminder of what might have been. That night, a curious Ailey finds the shoes. He tries them on, taps his toes, and makes a wish. Then, in the blink of an eye, Ailey finds himself somewhere that is most definitely no place like home!"
