Published on the 100th Anniversary of the Southington News. The Southington News began as weekly publication in 1863 when it was known as "The Mirror". It was renamed "The Southington Reporter" in 1873, and then "The Phoenix" some time after that. In 1911, The Phoenix became The Southington News. Publication ended in 1969 when The Meriden Record Company acquired the newspaper. |
