The Crimea in 1854, and 1894. / By General Sir Evelyn Wood. With plans, and illustrations from sketches taken on the spot by Colonel the Hon. W. J. Colville, C. B.
This autobiographical narrative contains memoirs and letters pulled from the author's experiences on the Crimean front, and those drawn upon his revisiting of the land some 40 years later. The author takes a contemptible stance against the government of England during the war, feeling that much of his comrades' sufferings were the direct result of the poor mismanagement and logistics of the relief effort.
