Summary Portrait of a Lady is considered to beℓRogier van der Weyden's masterpiece. The lady is painted in the Gothic ideal of beauty with elongated features, fair skin and a demure character. Her composition is made up of geometric shapes: a rectangular veil, round face and triangular dress.ℓShe has a slenderℓface with plucked eyebrows and a forehead most likelyℓshaved to create a high, artificial hairline that was fashionable at the time. Her hands are crossed in a prayer-like fashion.
