The Mito Rebellion was a civil war that occurred in the Mito Domain of Japan between May 1864 and Januarary 1865. Uprisings and terrorist actions were employed against the central Shogunate powers by the rebels, who were in favor of theℓSonnō Jōiℓ("revere the emperor, expel the barbarians") policy. |
