Summary |
In The neverending story, the Nothing threatens to destroy Fantasia and its Child-Empress and a young warrior sets out to save them. In The witches, a nine-year-old boy and his grandmother confront a witch who is planning to turn all of England's children into mice. In The secret garden, a young orphan named Mary is sent to live at the dark and foreboding English estate of her widowed uncle. She discovers a secret garden which was abandoned after a tragic accident. With the help of her crippled cousin Colin, and Dickon the country boy, her spirit is gradually reawakened as they bring the garden back to life. In Five children and it, four brothers and one sister discover a Psammead, or sand-fairy, in the gravel pit near the country house where they are staying, unaware of the misadventures its wish-granting will bring them. |
