Summary Published by the manufacturers of the Godiva clothing line, this volume presents the various types of riding habits offered by the company to women of the late 19th century. Made to allow the woman to appear more masculine while on horseback, the riding habit usually consisted of a tailored jacket with a long skirt, a tailored shirt with a collar and a hat reminiscent of the men's styles of the day (for most of the Victorian era, this was a top hat).
