Contents Bedknobs and broomsticks -- Chitty chitty bang bang -- Mary Poppins -- Willy Wonka & the chocolate factory.
Summary Bedknobs and broomsticks : An amateur witch, along with three precocious orphans, flies into one fantastic adventure after another aboard a bewitched bed to save the country from hostile invaders.
Chitty chitty bang bang : Eccentric inventor Caractacus Potts creates an extraordinary car called Chitty chitty bang bang. It not only drives--but also flies and floats--as it leads him, his two children and his beautiful lady friend, Truly Scrumptious into a magical world of pirates, castles and adventure. There, the group encounter a host of unforgettable characters, including Baron Bomburst of Vulgaria, his persnickety wife, a lovable village toymaker and an evil child catcher.
Mary Poppins : After a banker's children lose their nanny due to her frustration with them, a change in the wind blows in a magical nanny who matches the children's qualifications, but not those of their very proper father. As Mary Poppins helps the children magically explore the world around them, their father grows increasingly disapproving of her methods, and he must eventually deal with his own distance from his children.
Willy Wonka & the chocolate factory : Candy manufacturer Willy Wonka has a contest and hides five golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. All five ticket winners get a free tour of the mysterious Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of Wonka candy. Four of the children are nasty brats who are punished by Willie Wonka with various diabolical, but funny, methods. Only Charlie, a likeable child, wins the heart of the manufacturer.
