Note Original document: Painting.
Summary This painting depicts Catherine of Aragon being denounced in front of King Henry VIII and his Council. The case that Henry and his advisors had put together to secure his annulment from Catherine was based on the accusation that Catherine's previous marriage to Henry's brother Arthur had in fact been consummated, thereby making it unallowable under Catholic law. Catherine's assertions to the contrary were greatly refuted.
