520 The 1949 edition of the Promenade Yearbook from Maryville
College of the Sacred Heart. The books were named to
signify both the strolls around the campus and the
"promenade" from freshman year to graduation. The name can
be accredited to students Mary Helen Schaeffer (1940) and
Margaret Boland (1940). Within this edition, the faculty
and staff, graduating class, and the lower classes are
photographed and labeled, as well as various clubs and
sports teams from Maryville College in 1949. The
Promenade was the major project of the sophomore class.
¡Although the graduates were foremost in the minds of the
staff, they tried to make the book a personal reminder to
each student of the years 1948-1949. The theme of the
1949 Promenade was "Ever May Thy Children Answer the
Call." "I will not forget" is the motto of the alumnae of
Maryville College. ¡The 1949 yearbook was dedicated to all
the girls who have ever attended, attend now, or will
attend Maryville. Senior Class of 1949: Carlotta
