The research tasks addressed four specific questions: 1. According to the best available data, what is the relevance of LREC training and capabilities to overall unit readiness and mission accomplishment? 2. How does DoD currently track the LREC training and capabilities of GPF? 3. Does this tracking adequately reflect unit readiness and the ability to accomplish missions? 4. If not, how can DoD improve tracking of LREC training and capabilities to adequately reflect unit readiness? To address these questions, the study team reviewed DoD policies and directives and the available academic literature, conducted interviews of practitioners and policymakers, and analyzed available survey data. This report presents the results of the study. This research should be of interest to policymakers interested in LREC skills and training, as well as those interested in readiness requirements."--Preface. 536 The research described in this report was prepared for the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) ... under Contract W74V8H-06-C-0002. 588 0 Online resource; title from PDF title screen (viewed on Oct. 18, 2012). 610 10 United States.|bDepartment of Defense|xPersonnel management|xEvaluation. 650 0 Soldiers|xEducation, Non-military|zUnited States. 650 0 Language and languages|xStudy and teaching|zUnited States. 650 0 Military education|zUnited States|xEvaluation. 650 0 Cultural competence|xGovernment policy|zUnited States |xEvaluation. 650 7 TECHNOLOGY & ENGINEERING|xMilitary Science.|2bisacsh 651 0 United States|xArmed Forces|xOfficials and employees |xEducation. 651 0 United States|xArmed Forces|xPersonnel management |xEvaluation. 700 1 DeCamp, Jennifer. 710 2 National Defense Research Institute (U.S.) 710 2 Rand Corporation. 710 2 Mitre Corporation. 830 0 Technical report (Rand Corporation) ;|vTR-1192-OSD. 914 ocn813255719 994 92|bCKE
