Summary Various letters written to women by Protestant theologian Martin Luther are collected and annotated in this 19th-century volume. These letters were written to queens, duchesses and other nobles, to nuns in convents, to the spouses of German officials, and to common people. They show the deep piety and regard Luther had for domestic concerns, and also show flashes of playfulness and humor. Taken together, they show how the great deeds of Luther's life were interwoven with day-to-day concerns and duties.
