Summary Including essays, reviews and some poetical works, Whitman's November Boughs was first published in 1888. Most famously, the work contains a fervent essay about the Shakespeare authorship question, of which Whitman was a great believer. Writing about Shakespeare's histories in particular, the poet argues that someone other than Shakespeare of Stratford-upon-Avon penned the works.
