Summary Adelaide Labille-Guiard was a French painter and miniaturist. She lived and worked during the time of the French Revolution. At age 20 she studied art formally at the Academie de Saint-Luc and was accepted into the French Royal Academy of Painting. This painting is her self-portrait, depicting herself as an establishedℓpainter alongside two pupils.ℓ
