Summary |
The Tatler, 1915. Yearbook of Huntington High School, Huntington, WV. The story of Huntington's public education is, somewhat, piecemeal. Various sites were chosen for the general education of Huntington's school age children. A school building was operating in the west end by November, 1872. Marshall College was another site which provided high school education, and the eastern part of the city was catered for by a structure on Third Avenue and 22nd Street. African-American children were educated at one of the local African-American churches. In 1916 the brand new Huntington Central High School opened, consolidating the various city schools. |
