This map from 1775 shows Prince Edward Island, then called Saint John Island. The map is titled, "A plan of the island of St. John with the divisions of the counties parishes & the lots as granted by government likewise the soundings round the coast and harbours. Surveyed by Capt. Holland. 1775." The island would not come to be known as Prince Edward Island until 1799. |
