Summary |
Jim MacLaine (David Essex) is 18 and studying for his advanced level exams. But he finds his book work increasingly irksome. So much so that he packs a suitcase, hitches a lift to the coast, and soon finds a job. While working at a fairground he is invited to a university dance by his old friend Terry. He finds the people there irritating and 'square' and feels sufficiently left out to quit the fairground and return home. He then marries Terry's sister Jeanette and when their first child is born, Jim seems content. But it is not long before he once again walks out in search of freedom and irresponsibility. THAT'LL BE THE DAY features rock legends Ringo Starr and Keith Moon in supporting roles and was Nominated for **BAFTA Awards** for Most Promising Newcomer and Best Supporting Actress. |
