The Colgrass Family History written by Cathy Edwards for inclusion in the Brookfield Centennial book, titled Brookfield, Illinois A History. Moved to Brookfield during 1926. They lived in ¡four different homes. Michael and Ann Colgrass had three children. Mike was a Postmaster for 38 years. Mike reorganized the Businessmen's Association into the Chamber of Commerce around 1954.Mike was President in 1956. Mike was active in the Kiwanis Club and served as President around 1939. Mike served as the President of the Historical Society in 1968 and President of the 75th Jubilee in the same year. In 1970, Mike was the Brookfield's Citizen of the Year.
