Summary |
This document is the last letter sent to Queen Elizabeth I of England from her favorite Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester. He wishes her health and is travelling to the baths because of his own "poor case." He died six days later and Elizabeth kept the letter in her jewel case at her bedside, writing "His last letter" on the outside. It was found when she died 15 years later. It is preserved at The National Archives, Kew, U.K. |
