Summary This medieval manuscript depicts the end of battle between Genghis Khan and Jalal ad-Din Khwarazm-Shah in 1221, when the Shah, or Sultan as he preferred to be called, fled in terror across the river after watching the remainder of his troops be killed by the Mongols. The Sultan would spend years in India before returning to his Kingdom, where he struggled continuously with the Khan.
