Spanish: ℓLos carteles de la guerra civil española constituyen un importante y valioso fondo en la colección de la Biblioteca Nacional de España, caracterizándose principalmente por un predominio de la imagen frente a la tipografía. Fueron un importante medio de propaganda y comunicación, desempeñando una notable función social y política en la España de esta época. ℓLa tipología es muy variada: movilización, consignas, mensajes ideológicos, retratos, caricaturas, ayuda sanitaria, protección infantil, solidaridad internacional, etc. Y el valor artístico de muchos de ellos es también importantísimo, en tanto que grandes artistas gráficos de la época (Renau, Martí-Bas, Bofarull...) pusieron su gran talento al servicio de la causa.ℓ ℓLos carteles de la guerra son el reflejo de una sociedad dividida por distintas ideologías y marcada por el activismo político, y constituyen un material gráfico fundamental para el estudio y la investigación de un periodo esencial de la historia de España. ℓEnglish: ℓThe posters of the Spanish Civil War is an important and valuable part of collection of the National Library of Spain, mainly featured by a predominance of the image over typography. They were an important means of propaganda and communication, playing a significant social and political role in the Spain of these years. ℓThe typology is very diverse: mobilization, slogans, ideological messages, portraits, caricatures, health care, child protection, international solidarity, etc.. And the artistic value of many of them is also oustanding, since great graphic artists of the time (Renau, Martí-Bas, Bofarull ...) offered their great talents to the service of the cause. ℓThese war posters are the reflection of a divided society marked by different ideologies and political activism, and they provide graphic materials nowadays considered essential for the study and research of a critical period in the history of Spain. |
