Summary Steel: Before prizefighting was outlawed, Steel Kelly was an indestructible heavyweight fighter. Now he's managing a non-living boxer, an obsolete android called "Battling Maxo" and to raise the money to repair Maxo, Steel returns to the ring disguised as an android. His opponent? A brand new B7 model impossible for him to beat--and quite capable of killing him.
A game of pool: Champion pool player Fats Brown is dead, but somehow pool shark Jesse Cardiff finds himself playing against him. Jesse is willing to bet his life for the chance to beat the best--even though Fats warns his eager opponent that the stakes are higher than he realizes.
Walking distance: Harried ad man Martin Sloan is so eager to recapture the joys of his childhood that he somehow travels back in time to the hometown of his youth. But things aren't as simple as Martin believes they were. The peace he'd hoped to find is no longer there for him--and he finds that his very presence in the past threatens to undermine his own future.
Kick the can: Charles Whitley, rejected by his son and living out his last years in a home for the aged, concludes that recapturing the joys of childhood can keep you young. Funny thing is, he may be right. But the doubts of one man may keep Charles and his aging friends from getting a second chance at youth.
