Summary |
"World War II was undeniably one of the pivotal events of the 20th century. Between 1941-45, 210,000 Connecticut residents served in the military. Another 500,000 including almost 200,000 women, worked in the state's war plants. In cities and towns around Connecticut, workers produced submarines, aircraft engines, fighter planes, side arms, artillary shells, ball bearings, parachutes and even flatware for mess kits - all for the Allied War effort."--Container." |
