Summary |
After the events of the Boston Massacre, both patriots and loyalists raced to send their version of events back to colonial administrators in London. A Short Narrative of the Horrid Massacre in Boston was written and published by a group of Bostonians critical of the British military presence. Drawing on more than 90 eyewitness depositions, this account was dispatched on a fast ship for England and reached the British public weeks before A Fair Account of the Late Unhappy Disturbance in Boston, a rival publication that blamed the shooting on the Bostonians. |
