Summary Washington requests that Parker, who superintended the evacuation of the British from New York City following the Revolutionary War, do what he can to ensure that the British do not "[convey] off any Negroes or other property of the inhabitants of the United States", including, most particularly, Washington's slaves and those of his cousin and farm manager Lund Washington.
